Our History
Steve Barnes has always had a wide range of interests including , bamboo furniture, upholstery, rag rugs, and paint finishes.
After a spell managing painting for Smallbone of Devizes, Steve and Tony Kemp set up Tones to paint kitchens bedrooms and bathrooms for Mark Wilkinson Furniture.
There was a strong demand for paperhanging and Stefan Lyko joined Tones in 1983. Focussed on the top end of the wallpaper market Stefan became one of the best paperhangers in the UK. He has subsequently trained each one of our skilled team of paperhangers.
Experienced in every paper and wallcovering especially at the luxury end of the market where they can be expensive, Tones have been in demand for over 35 years. We are recommended by many specialist wallpaper suppliers within the UK and around the world.
Our team now includes Barry Swift, Genti Gjeta and Stefan Lyko as paperhangers, and Steve Barnes in the office.
